Subject: Funeral For A/DI Gerald Jansen

 Funeral services for A/DI Gerald "Jerry" Jansen will be held on Saturday, February 17 at 11:00am, at St. Johns In The Village, located on Waverly Place, off 7th Avenue.

The family has invited all Auxiliary Officers to attend; dress uniform (summer blouse and white gloves) are requested, but not required and members of the 6th Pct. AFS will provide an Honor Guard

His body will be cremated. If possible, we would like to have Auxiliary RMP's follow the hearse to the crematorium.

For those of you who did not know him, Jerry was CO of the 6th AFS for 35 years. He was also a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary and a Marine Corp veteran of WW II and was awarded the Bronze Star, Silver Star and 2 Purple Hearts.

I walked my first patrol with him 26 years ago and it was a privilege to serve under his command. He will be missed.
