In our precinct we have our own recruitment drives. We take time on Saturdays to cover the entire area we are responsible for with posters, we approach people in the parks and hand out pamphlets and talk to them about the program. It seems to be very productive, during the last couple of drives we have produced enough applicants for two classes, one of 27 and the latest started with about 30 or 32. The posters and pamphlets are provided by HQ but we use a lot of our own resources to get more people.

I am a member of the Nassau County Auxiliary Police & President of
NYSAAP.
If you would like to see some of our recruitment ideas go to

http://www.auxiliary-police.org/recruitm.htm

I have found the best way is ask a friend to join.
We have a website.
We use signs, posters, fliers, newspaper & radio ads.
We use bus & taxi ads.
We advertise at movie theaters.
We visit Colleges & High Schools.
We park our marked patrol cars in shopping malls & other public places.
People join & quit in about 1 year.

Friends & family last longer.
Ask your members to find 1 new member each.
You could dubble you membership.

Fraternally,
