I have Firefox 3.6 with Autotrans 2.3 and Transmission 1.82. Whenever
I try to do a right click and click on torrent it I get a popup of
Invalid or Corrupt Torrent File. This only happens on the magnet
file. I have no issues with the normal torrent. I have tried a few
different torrent sites with the same issue.

Hi JC,

Unfortunately, I do not have the 1.80+ version of Transmission yet, so
I am unable to test magnet links. I'm assuming you are using this new
version in order to get the magnet support.
I do know that another user, Manu, claims that the magnet links are
working: http://groups.google.com/group/autotrans-firefox/browse_thread/thread/72dd15d9a14db1b
Perhaps you could post a comment in that thread to try to find out
what is different between your system and theirs.
I will install the new transmission as soon as I get a chance and test
these links on my own. Sorry for the delay.

I actually just updated to 1.80 and tested a magnet link and it worked
fine. Are you sure you have the latest transmission?

Looks like your right. For some reason by daemon was running 1.82 but
the webclient was stuck at 1.78. I have it upgraded and its working.

Thanks for looking into it.

I am getting this "Invalid or corrupt torrent file" error message on
some trackers, while on others Autotrans works fine. Should I blame
the tracker?

C

P.S. Running Autotrans 3 as of this morn', though I was getting the
very same error with 2.5 as well...

hey Christian,
I'm not sure, but is there something special about the sites where it
doesn't work (such as required authentication)?

You're right, now I notice that it works fine on free trackers, but not
working on trackers that require authentication.

Cheers,

Yeah, this is a problem that I've been trying to remedy for a while
now. See this thread for details:

Hopefully, I will be able to get a working meta-info encoding working
in javascript soon.
Until then, unfortunately, these auth'd trackers will need to be
manually added in the Web UI.
