Why was the digital dashboard striped from this version of the
software? It would be nice if we could see a representation of the
some of the various function. Also, why was data logging stripped
out? This is probable one of the best tools in the software.

Just a different design philosophy I guess.
As an engine diagnostic tool it's pretty good. Bang for the buck, if you
have a portable computer already, it's one of the better ways to go. I use
it mostly for reading sensor values and analyzing why a code came up. It has
graphing functions (imho) that are more useful than a datalogger as you can
choose what values to graph ie advance vs rpm... I've barely scratched the
surface on using that stuff so far.
I've seen some other tools that do bluetooth or WiFi (iirc) but the hook was
software. There was one tool that communicated to a smartphone. Don't recall
the maker and whether it would do a virtual dashboard.

Depending on where your OBDii connector is, you may not want to drive about
(long term) with any type of diagnostic tool plugged in there. Just in the
process of sliding into the drivers seat of my '01 Saturn, nearly knocked
the autotap converter loose from the car.
