AutoSys 4.5 & AutoSys r11

Hi,

 

In a few months, we’ll migrate to AutoSys r11, so someone could ask to me what are the differences between AutoSys 4.5 and AutoSys R11 ??

And on R11, by what is replaced the command such as “autosc”, “jobscape”, etc …

The Web base front end called CA Workload Control Center.

THis has Applications Tabs, Quick Start Portlet, Job Status Views portlet and enterprise Command line Portlet

The Quick Start portlet displays links to the CA WCC components to which the current user has access. Depending on a user's role, the Quick Start portlet may display some or all of the following links, each of which opens the associated component in a separate browser window when clicked:

• Configuration Manager
• Job Editor
• Event Console
• Job Flow Design
• Job Flow Monitoring
• Job Status Console

Application Tabs

Many CA WCC applications are accessed using tabs in the user interface. When you move from one application to another, the displayed information is retained and redisplayed when you return.

The following applications are available:

Application	Tab	Description
Main CA WCC	Main	Contains some or all of the following portlets: Quick Start, Job Status Views, and Enterprise Command Line. Portlet availability is role-based and is determined by the CA EEM PortletAccess policy.
Job Status Console	JSC	Provides a real-time, consolidated view of the enterprise, with job status, alert, and dashboard information. Job Status Console lets you view the enterprise by servers (workload automation scheduling manager instances) or by user-defined views.
Quick View	QVIEW	Provides detailed Unicenter AutoSys JM or Unicenter CA-7 job information in a single page view. Quick View lets you edit a job, view a job flow, send an event to a job, and view logs. Quick View can be used as an alternative to searching through a command line report for the job status information that you want.
Critical Path Monitoring	CPM	Provides general status information about your active Unicenter AutoSys JM critical path job flows. Note: The CPM tab is only available to authorized users after you have defined one or more JAWS Workload Service Manager (JAWS) servers in Configuration Manager.
High Availability	HA	Lets the core server user publish, synchronize, and monitor the configurations that the spectator servers in a High Availability group are running with. High Availability also lets the spectator server user apply a configuration package or roll back to a previous configuration. Note: The HA tab is only available to authorized users if the CA WCC server running the current instance is in a High Availability group.
Credential	CRED	Provides a summary of the servers to which the logged-in user has access. Credential also lets you add or delete credentials for a selected server, update the password for a selected user and server, and validate credentials for the active users against a back-end server.
Enterprise Command Line	ECLI	Lets you run a command line interface command such as jil or autorep on the selected Unicenter AutoSys JM server, or a VSQL or topline command on the selected Unicenter CA-7 server. Enterprise Command Line also lets you save commands, modify and run saved commands, and import and export Unicenter AutoSys JM jobs and calendars.
Quick Edit	QEDIT	Lets you manage all of the properties of your Unicenter AutoSys JM r11 workload objects, such as jobs and calendars, from a single page view. Note: The QEDIT tab is only available to authorized users after you have defined a Unicenter AutoSys JM r11 server in Configuration Manager.
Application Editor	APPEDIT	Provides a graphical representation of all of the relationships between Unicenter AutoSys JM r11 jobs and their dependencies. Application Editor lets you easily create a new job flow or modify an existing job flow by adding or deleting objects graphically using drag-and-drop. Note: The APPEDIT tab is only available to authorized users after you have defined a Unicenter AutoSys JM r11 server in Configuration Manager.

Job Status Views Portlet

The Job Status Views portlet displays the Job Status Console view name and dashboard status for all the views to which the user has access.

This portlet contains the following columns:

• Status

  Indicates the dashboard status for the associated view (Normal, Low, Medium, High, or Critical).

• Name

  Identifies a view for which status is reported. Clicking the view name opens the Job Status: Jobs page in Job Status Console for information about the jobs defined in the selected view.

This portlet contains the following button:

• Refresh

  Refreshes the page, portlet, or view to include changes since the last refresh.

Enterprise Command Line Portlet

The Enterprise Command Line portlet features a subset of functionality of the more robust Enterprise Command Line application. The Enterprise Command Line portlet lets you do the following:

• Run a command line interface (CLI) command such as jil or autorep on the selected Unicenter AutoSys JM server, or a VSQL or topline command on the selected Unicenter CA-7 server for a specific job. You can also view and print the displayed output. Errors, if they occur, are also displayed.

  A file on the job management server controls the commands that are allowed to be executed with the Enterprise Command Line portlet. This ensures that system commands cannot be executed with the Enterprise Command Line portlet.

  Note: You can modify this file to control the allowable commands. For more information, contact CA Technical Support.

• Save commands. You can save a command to a list of frequently-used commands accessible only to yourself (My Commands), or to a list of commands accessible to all users (Global Commands).

In addition to the tasks you can perform with the Enterprise Command Line portlet, the Enterprise Command Line application lets you do the following:

• Modify, save, and run commands previously saved to the My Commands and Global Commands lists.
• Import and export Unicenter AutoSys JM jobs and calendars. You can search for a specific job or calendar, export it to a text file, modify its properties using a text editor, and import the modified properties back to the Unicenter AutoSys JM server. You can also view the results of running the import or export command.
