We are planning to upgrade AutoSys FROM version 11.3.6 SP7 to one of the 3 versions currently available: 11.3.6 SP8, 12.0, OR 12.0.01. Could you please comment on experience you have had with any of these versions as well as your upgrade experience? Is there a recommended version?

Thanks

I just upgraded my company from 11.3.6 SP8 to 12.0.01 (recommended version of 12, since regular 12 has some tough bugs) and discovered the installer is not all inclusive anymore. It splits the application portion and database portion up into two separate installs. I recommend this as the path for upgrading, if you do:

- Upgrade AEDB Database
- Upgrade WCC Databases
- Upgrade AE Components
- Upgrade WCC (Web UI in R12+)

We found that we had to drop the database for the WCC portion to get it to install, because it wouldn't upgrade from 11.4 (equivalent version of WCC for AE 11.3.6 SP8) and get a DBA to use SYS to log into the installer. WCC now has two accounts similar to Autosys, one for SYS work "wccadmin" and one for day-to-day operations "wcc" like AEDBADMIN and AUTOSYS respectively.

I recommend backing up EEM policies, WCC views and configurations before starting. We didn't have any trouble, but you never know.

We upgraded primarily to get off of Oracle Java and to take advantage of the new features in the HTTP job type for restful calls.

So far so good in DEV right now and all components are 64 bit so that is a plus as well.

Many thanks for this info! Could you tell me if you noticed any database changes? I am wondering if any of our scripts and sql will need updating.
