I finally have some good laps recorded with 2.8.7 MK2 firmware.  When using these laps with the Analysis feature, I have noticed several issues:

  1. No scaling.  If I look at AccelX or AccelY I basically get a flat line near the bottom of the window.
  2. Data Cap:  I am logging erroneous RPM data.  My logs have RPM spikes up to 56,000 RPM.  To resolve this I am going to start getting RPM via CAN bus, but the erroneous data does illustrate another problem:  The Analysis graph displays data beyond the limits of the configuration of the channel.  For example the RPM channel is set for a range of 0 to 10,000.  Thus I would expect this to be the scaled range displayed in Analysis.  It seems that the App actually tries to scale using the limits of the recorded data.
  3. What are the Axises in the Analysis?  Is the X Axis time or distance?  Will there be an option to toggle?
  4. The driving line: When I click lap 2 (fast lap) in the log I've attached, I see the line for lap 3.  When I click lap 3, I see the line for lap 4.  This can easier be confirmed by selecting laps 2 & 3.  In lap three I oversteered and went wide.  This is correctly reflected in the speed trace.  But the drawn path shows me going wide in lap 2.
  5. If I click lap 6, my in lap, and then select another lap it shifts the entire lap display and all other laps begin to display off the track map.  If you play with this enough, then the data display area will also disappear.

Hi BJ,

Thanks for testing the beta analysis features and the report.

Note when you're reporting issues it's good to look at the current issues list to see if we already have that noted: https://github.com/autosportlabs/RaceCapture_App/issues

Right now, we're currently working on issues targeted for 1.4.3 (bugfixes) and 1.5.0 (new features). The chart's X axis is currently by distance.

We have tasks that address 1 & 2 above (customize scaling for channels)  and 3 (select time vs distance). Got another one to correct lap selection as well.

Thanks again,
-Brent

While we're adding the channel scaling features you can re-import your data by first deleting the datastore.sq3 file, found under windows application data for your logged in account.

Once you do that, the import from your recent data will set the min/max values according to the metadata in your logfile, which will correct the accelerometer and gyro readings correct.

HTH,
-Brent
