Ok I have been using Racecapture on and off this season and wanted to share my thoughts.
First up I wanted to say thanks because I see how rapidly this tool is developing but I have been having a few niggles, some of which are my fault! When it has worked it is amazing and the data is helpful.
I do see how hard you guys are working on social media, I love the enthusiasm and am passing on my thoughts as I want RC to be the best it can be.
I currently have a recapture Pro and new Racecapture
A big one for us in Australia is the metric system, can we get kilometers per hour please and celcius please? :)
Local Tracks: something is glitchy here, I cannot find the 3 tracks I have made in the Australian section, QR Sprint, QR Clubman and Lakeside Raceway. Last time at QR I it did not autodetect and start and I then needed to set the start GPS point manually (I think this is safer option to eliminate a variable, however I am now sure how it has picke dthe correct track variant.) The tracks then seem to be recognised in Podium after a log file upload.
Local time zones: When i create an event in podium I am completely lost as i need to adjust for international time zones.
I had no luck updating firmwares to 2.10.1 on a new macbook pro, I had to shift to a pc to do this. no problem just somethign to be aware of. I had disabled BT and wifi as well.
I haven't had a chance to test the iOS app as we had finished our season as i got the demo. It seems to run fine.
I have just put a new headunit in the car and Racecapture works great on it. it is an Ownice c500. Unfortunately though, the bluetooth is locked out so I will need to connect via wifi. Is the wifi module working for the primary connection for RCP yet? The headunit has a SIM card so I anticipate this will work VERY well.
Thanks guys, keep up the good work.
Long term I would be looking to add an oil pressure sensor (in degrees), then look at adding toyota/subaru specific OBDII entries for oil temp etc.
