This file:/home/weigel/g13_maged_19me1_2s_20100712_20100712.nc?M_1ME1_COUNTtakes an order of magnitude (< 1 sec) less time to plot than this (~ 20 sec)I could imagine the user wanting the option of forcing Autoplot to download the file locally if they know it will lead to a faster render. Thoughts?Maybe there should be a parameter that requests this behavior (or the other, and downloading the whole thing should be the default).

I'll add a parameter that will make a local copy first. (How about local=yes, so we can have local=no if we change the default?)> I am not sure it it would be better if it were the default. For netcdf, probably yes.
Isn't this only going to be for netcdf? Would this be relevant for openDAP as well?
