Hi

AutoPkgr has been working fine for me with our JSS, but since updating to OSX Server 5.0, I now get these errors:

RECIPEMESSAGETRACEBACK
Java8Error in local.jss.OracleJava8: Processor: JSSImporter: Error: Error mounting url "afp://username:password@serverip:548/casper_share": NoneTraceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/local/bin/autopkg", line 1459, in run_recipes autopackager.process(recipe) File "/Library/AutoPkg/autopkglib/__init__.py", line 479, in process % (identifier, step["Processor"], unicode(err))) AutoPackagerError: Error in local.jss.OracleJava8: Processor: JSSImporter: Error: Error mounting url "afp://username:password@serverip:548/casper_share": None

[I have changed the url for the afp share]

What might be the problem?

Thanks

Tim

Hi Tim,

Can you manually mount the AFP URL listed in the error message?

If so, try running this command in Terminal to verify that the distribution point password is correct:

defaults read com.github.autopkg JSS_REPOS

Finally, check your /Volumes folder to see whether casper_share might still be mounted from a previous unsuccessful run. If it is, unmount it.

Let me know whether that helps. Thanks,

Elliot

Hi Elliot

Thanks for your reply!

When I try mounting the AFP share, it has this error:

This file server is available on your computer.  Access the volumes and files locally.

I am running Autopkgr on the Mac server that has the JSS on it...is this generally a bad idea?  It was working before I upgraded to Server 5.0, so maybe it's a problem with that?

Thanks

Tim

Hi Tim,

Did you also upgrade from 10.9 to 10.10+? I saw that same behavior on a Mac I manage. The solution was to run AutoPkgr on another Mac, or inside a VM.

In general, I'd recommend running AutoPkgr on a non-JSS Mac. (Same goes for servers that host Munki repos.)

I am also having this same issue, but only after upgrading to the latest Autopkgr build 1.3.2 (1104)

I've solved it by running autopkgr on a different Mac to the JSS.

It did work before though!

Unfortunately I do not have that luxury. Do we know what changed? I would assume something on the OS side, but I have not ran any updates on that server recently that would have made that type of change.

Hi Ricardo,

Are you able to use the mount_afp command to mount your distribution point manually? Knowing whether that works will help us troubleshoot.

I will give it a try, I know if I use the connect to server option is fails to mount. Unable to mount since its being shared from the local server.

Hi Ricardo,

When you run the jss recipes in Terminal, does the same error occur?

If so, you might be encountering the same issue as this one:

Elliot
