I installed ePMV using upy-3dsMax2015-win64.msi. When I try to start ePMV I get the attached error message along with the registration form.
After registering I only get the error message.
Happens also in 3ds max 2016.

autoPACK seems to work.

Kind regards
Henning

Could you try the manual installation instead ? and tell me if you get the same error.
the manual installation consist in downloading the archive on sourceforge http://sourceforge.net/projects/upyplugins/files/Releases/upy-3dsMax2015-win.zip/download
and extract the content in C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\2015 - 64bits\ENU\

actually just to be sure, did you install PyQt for 3dsMax ? or add it to the python path ? ePMV assume PySide which come with 3dsMax.
so if in 3dsMAx PyQt is picked other PySide our current plugin will not work as excpected...I will have to change the code to handle both case.

I may have missed it; but is there a solution for installing autoPACK to 3ds max 2016? Can I follow the 2015 install directions?

Thanks,

Kevin

I am not sure, I have to install it and then test it. however if 2016 come with the same python version and used the same visual studio to compile it should be ok.

I will let you know as soon as I am done with the test.

Hi,

I just did a test install on 3dsMax 2016 with the current installation, using the manual installation

and I was able to run ePMV and load a molecule ! It seems there is some change in their API, I will have to work on it and prepare an update. for instance autoPACK seems to not work properly due to some Hide/Show function changes in their API.

Hello Ludo,

I'm just starting to use autoPack and experienced this same frustration this weekend when 3ds max 2016 wouldn't recognize the contents of the autoPack upy-3dsMax2015-win.zip
after following the manual installation guide. Granted, this topic just came up a few days ago on this forum, I was wondering if you've had time to explore a work around for autoPack in the 2016 API?

Thanks,
Nathan

Hi,

I am going to work on it this week, I will let you know as soon as I got something running.

Hey Ludo,

It's been a couple of weeks, and I was wondering if you've had an opportunity to look into a 3ds max 2016 API work around for autoPack? Please let me know if you've found something, or have a new release on the horizon.

Thanks,
Nathan
