to Automatic Application Licensing
One question keeps popping up fairly frequently: what happens when a
user moves to a new phone?
The answer is that AAL should handle this just fine. AAL is phone and
carrier neutral. As long as the new phone/carrier is capable of
purchasing the app from the Android market, things will work great.
It's possible that a new phone or the same phone on a new carrier will
change the accessibility of the app from the market in such a way that
a previously purchased app is unaccessible. In that case, AAL would
not be able to validate purchase.
Generally, when you switch phones and reinstall an app that was
previously purchase and that has AAL embedded, the user will see AAL
perform purchase validation again, and a new license will be generated
for that user/app/phone/carrier.
