I've been receiving this error for about a week - the sheet worked fine before then, and we have made no changes. Any ideas?

error: Service timed out: Apps Script

Many Thanks,
Henry Carless

Perhaps Google has changed the timeout for scripts, or this is a temporary problem on their side. We will see if there's anything we can do on our side to improve the situation. At least at the moment, our test spreadsheet is running without errors.

Thanks for getting back to me Mikael.

I haven't managed to fix the problem, but I have somehow managed to make all the errors appear in Finnish...

*facepalm*

Hi Mikael,

I started a new sheet and it worked perfectly for a couple of days, but now we're receiving this message: 'error: Service error: Apps Script'

This spreadsheet is critical to our business, and we must get it back up and running ASAP so any help you can provide would be hugely appreciated.

I tried using a new token, with no luck. I did notice that the account had around 13000 old tokens - I have no idea why these have been generated? I've revoked them now.

It seems Google has changed something that causes this error, we haven't done any changes on our end. How many queries do you have on the sheet? If you have a lot, you should look into reducing the number. If you share with me (mikael.t...@gmail.com) I can take a quick look.

The large number of old tokens is caused by the tool having to refresh your original token after every 60 minutes of usage, this is done automatically in the background.

Hi Mikael,

I'm now getting the error 'Error: 401 authError Invalid Credentials (Authentication token expired)'

Please could you take a look?

Thanks,
Henry

Does it work if you re-open the file? Which account (GA login email address) are you logged in with?

It doesn't work when I re-open I'm afraid - The account I'm logged into is hcar...@vertical-leap.co.uk - we're using the GetData option for grabbing the adwords data rather than analytics data.

We purchased the license just to use this sheet - it was working fine for months, we didn't change anything, and it's now no longer working.

Thanks,
Henry

Our logs indicate a problem with the customer ID you are querying data for (the second parameter for the getData function). Have you checked that this parameter contains a valid AdWords customer ID? If so, can you share the sheet with me so we can investigate?

I believe this is due to the fact that my report references IDs from the list of accounts that is usually generated automatically with the formula:
=getAccountData(AdToken,"profiles",IncludeHeaders)
This formula results in 'error: Service timed out: Apps Script'

I'll create a blank version of the sheet and share it with you.

Thanks,
Henry

So I made a copy and was about to strip out the sensitive info when I realised the copy was working - If it stops working I'll share it with you.

Thanks,
H

Good to hear it works now. Those kinds of errors unfortunately happen every now and then when using scripts in Google Docs.

Hi Mikael - I'm receiving the same "401 autherror invalid credentials" message upon attempts to refresh my report. The account login has not changed, but I'm operating from a different PC than the original report creator. Could you help?

Thanks
Jenn

Looks like someone has chosen "Log out of all GA Data Grabber files", which has caused your authentication to be revoked. You need to log out and in again.
