RegEx Limit for GA

Hi,

Are there any plans to circumvent the 128 character limit for RegEx filters for GA? Currently there's no limit on the size of a RegEx filter for Adwords queries, from what I gather this is because Supermetrics applies the filter rather than Adwords? Currently I use a RegEx filter in the Adwords module (added in querystorage) to filter to the keywords I want to look at but I need to download all keyword data in the GA module - it isn't a problem to use a lookup in this example but surely it would be better not to be limited?

Thanks,

J

If you type FILTERS_POST_QUERY to the Advanced settings field in the Options tab of our add-on sidebar, it will process all filters on our side rather than in Google Analytics, so the character limit won't apply.

We've now automated this, so we will automatically do the filtering on our side if regex length exceeds GA's 128 character limit. So you no longer need to use FILTERS_POST_QUERY for that.

Hi Supermetrics,

I believe the issue I'm experiencing is similar to this thread.  I'm only using the DataGrabber for Google Analytics at the moment.

In my custom GA report I have a regex (589 characters) that strings together and pulls in a group of landing page URLs.  I've copied and pasted this exact regex into a supermetrics filter.  It's working, but it won't pull every URL that I'm seeing in Google Analytics.

I've identified what looks to be a pattern.  I keep changing the date range to see if it'll grab everything, and Supermetrics keeps only displaying 21 rows of URLs ordered by sessions from high to low.  So typically the least visited URLs at the bottom are not being included (which amounts to 3-5 URLs missing depending on the time frame).

I have all of the report options maxed out and I tried the advanced filter you mentioned.  Still no dice.  Appreciate the help!

Thanks,
Drew
