Im creating a dashboard for a customer.
To do this I am pulling different information from different queries into one main sheet.

This main sheet also has a place to put the start and end date.
In querystorage I reference this location on the main sheet.

In the main sheet I also created a button with a Macro "refreshDataOnAllSheets"

Problem is that if the Query sheets are hidden, they dont get refreshed.

I dont want the query sheets to be shown since it just clutters up the xls file with tabs
and will confuse the customer.

How can I refresh the query sheets when they are hidden.

At the moment, it's not possible to refresh hidden sheets. But we can change this in the next update.

That would be a great addition.

Thanks!

Just released version 1.623: pushing the "Refresh all reports" button now refreshes hidden sheets too.

Hi Gary,
Are you using the Google Docs version of Supermetrics?  If so, I was wondering if you would mind sharing your script or if I could ask you some questions about how you were able to write a macro/button that refreshes queries. I would like to use our queries in a dashboard for a client but I cannot figure out how to allow users to refresh queries from their end within the dashboard.

Thanks,
Dan

Hi Dan,

No, I am using the Excel version. Basically, as noted above, they created a Macro called refreshDataOnAllSheets. So I basically created a button and attached the Macro to that button.

Thanks,
Gary

For the Google Docs version, the clients can refresh the queries if they also install the Supermetrics add-on and click Refresh from either the Add-ons menu or the sidebar. Once Google lets us, we will also add the option so schedule an automatic refreshing (we need Google to move forward with this first: https://code.google.com/p/google-apps-script-issues/issues/detail?id=3858)
