Android Oreo - Notification service not running - error

Flow that was working fine with Android Nougat fails immediately after starting on Android Oreo (final).

Nothing was changed on my phone other than upgrading to android 8 final.

Notification access for Automate is still active.

There was an upgrade to automate yesterday so that may have something to do with it too.

Play store claims it updated 16 hours ago to v1.7.2 (though the update info  says Jul 21, 2017)

Please let me know if I should change something.

Try rebooting the device. Android has problems restarting Notification and Accessibility services after an app update.
If that doesn't work try toggling the services off/on.
