I couldn't find the right class/action to start Waze. Can anyone help with this?

You can find the default Waze Activity using the "Resolve activity?" block with the action "Main", or use the "App start shortcut" block.

It should be easy using the App start block, here's an example flow:

After I have navigated to a location, I've tried using the App kill and the App kill background block to shut down Waze.  But I get a Java timeoutexception.  however, I can open and close waze, as long as navigation was not turned on.  Anyone figure out how to automatically close Waze after navigation?

Nevermind, I found a way with Taskkiller Tasker plugin

Use the Kill app block. Root is required.

I have a rooted phone.  As I said before, I was not able to kill the app after navigation, but was able to do so when the app was not on navigation mode.

Have you granted "forever" access to root in the su providing app?

Could you send me the system log, use the Help & feedback menu.

The kill app block also fails to close other apps, not juse waze.  I found out the problem is due to lag.  My phone (moto razr) heats up from waze and get underclocked to 300Mhz (so that it will cool down).  This lag caused the application to not close in time, and throws an error on the kill app block.

However when I use Tasker's Kill App plugin, the application does not seem to be affected by the lag.

Do you have problems with any other blocks requiring root, like Airplane mode set state?

Please send me the system log using the Help & feedback menu.

Airplane mode works fine.  I use that at night everyday.
