Fingerprint issue

It is not letting me use fingerprint to unlock phone, once I have locked it using automate.

Particularly it asks me to first unlock using pattern then it says from next time you can unlock with fingerprint, but that doesn't happen.

Please help...

As the documentation say:

The user will be forced to reenter the pattern, PIN or password when unlocking, use the Interact block with action Lock screen to only engage the “Smart lock”, i.e. fingerprint or face.
