Trying to send MMS with a photo by attaching a path of a photo took with the photo block:
FAIL 236@19: java.lang.NoSuchMethodException: openURLConnection [class java.net.URL, class java.net.Proxy]
What does this mean and how do I fix it?

Please use the Help & feedback menu just after you've tried the MMS send block, in the attached log i'll be able to see the cause.

I'm trying to get MMS send to work on an LG LS665 "Tribute Duo" on Sprint. But no matter what I try, I always get the following log:

2016-04-09 18:30:14.278 INFO 19@91: MMS send
2016-04-09 18:30:14.497 WARN 19@91: MMS sent to **********
2016-04-09 18:30:14.498 FAIL 19@91: java.io.IOException: Error_permanent_service_denied: 2509:Invalid originator data

It doesn't matter if I hardcode a phone number into the MMS Send block, attach a picture, or anything. It fails the same way regardless. And yes, Wi-Fi and/or LTE data are on.

Is this a known bug, or just simply a difficult task to do?

I may be caused by incorrect APN data as configured in system Settings, More (networks), Cellular networks, Access Point Names.

That's the interesting part: there is no entry for "APN Settings" in the "Mobile Networks" menu. I dug around the Internet, and found that AnyCut could create a shortcut to get the APN settings. They're there (in "cinet.spcs"), and the phone sends/receives MMS messages from the default messaging app just fine. Do you need a screenshot?

I tried a two-block script ("Start", "Send MMS"), and at first it would just hang (not even try to send), but now it fails with the same error as before.

Would a system log or something help?

Does the device have multiple SIM slots?

The error is coming from the APN so it's not an local error.
Automate is likely using the wrong (default) APN.

No, it is a single-sim LG Tribute Duo LS665, on Sprint Prepaid.  There is only one entry in the APN settings screen, "cinet.spcs", and it's not "checked" by default.  ("Checking" it doesn't seem to do anything; next time I open the APN settings dialog, it's unchecked again.)  I just did some further tests, and had it fail with "Timeout" when there was no LTE or WiFi.  With LTE or WiFi available, it fails with the same error as listed before.

I have set the "Subscription" to the only option, "Card #1".  Same result.

Actually, the menu train is Settings -> More -> Mobile networks -> ???.  (There is no entry for "Cellular networks.")  Just "Mobile data", "4G settings", "Network mode" and "Connections Optimizer."
Attached is a screenshot of the "Access point names" menu (accessed with an AnyCut shortcut), as well as what's inside "cinet.spcs".

I'll investigate, maybe i've missed something with identifying the correct APN, or establishing the connection through the cellular interface.

Please try without selecting an "subscription", long-tap to clear the field.

Now I'm not sure what's going on!  When I try the MMS Send block now, it just hangs, and doesn't do anything.  It doesn't matter whether I select a subscription or not.  No timeout, no error, just the following:

2016-04-14 10:14:38.674 INFO 46@1: Flow beginning
2016-04-14 10:14:38.678 INFO 46@7: MMS send

It sits there forever, with no further messages; I've tried it a couple of times, and let it sit for up to 20 minutes, but it doesn't move.
Now, in past days, I've seen an MMS send timeout error (unfortunately, I'm a little quick to clear the log), but it's not doing that today.  The phone can send/receive MMS just fine--I sent an MMS last night.

Sorry, as a programmer myself, I know that none of this really helps you pinpoint what's wrong.  Is there anything further I can do that will help with diagnostics?

P.S. FYI, I purchased the full Automate license for a friend yesterday, and am planning to get a GP card today, so I can purchase it for myself.  MMS sending is the only actual problem I've come across; otherwise, I'm a 6-star happy camper!

I've made a few improvements, we'll have to see if it has any impact on this issue.

Should I wait for an update to come through the Google Play Store, or is there some "debug build" I can try to see if the improvements have solved the issue?
