Hi,

First of all, I think Automate app is great and it's possibilities are huge, great project!

The problem:
I'm trying to configure a Plug-in Event block with Aqua Mail to trigger when a email is recevied from a certain address and with some subject but I don't know why it doesn't trigger. Any help or guidance will be great!

The last test done is without anything, so I want at least the block to trigger when an email is received in a test account. What am I doing wrong?

Here is the flow:

The flow has a Flow beginning, the plug-in event block "configured" with Aqua Mail and the notification. Everything linked accordingly.

The plugin event block is configured like this: I'm trying just to make it trigger with any email. I'd also like to get the email body and apply some modification to the content and display it in the notification (but step by step):

Inner plugin block configuration. I've tried all configuration of "From", "To", "Subject", but nothing triggers the event.

Here it's the notification block.

Any help will be more than welcome!

Thanks in advance!

Enable the Debug logging option in Automate settings, to see what the plug-in is reporting.

Android version?

Hi Henrik,

Very grateful for your fast response! Cool!

I've enabled logging option and I get the following log:

 Flow beginning
 Plug-in event
 PlugInEvent ACTION_QUERY_ACTION: resultCode=17

My device info:
  • Android version:13 TKQ1.221114.001
  • OS version: 1.0.1.0TGKEUXM
Expecting to know more! :)

Hi,

I've been trying to debug the issue, but I'm not having any luck. Could you provide some assistance? How should I proceed from here?

Thanks,

Hi Brent,

I'm sorry, but I'm having trouble with the link you provided. It redirects me back to this same conversation. Could you please check the link and resend it?

So the plugin seems to at least respond. resultCode=17 means "unsatisfied", i.e. that the event has not occurred yet, so the block should continue waiting.

Hi Henrik,

Thank you for your response!

I understand that resultCode=17 means "unsatisfied" and indicates that it's waiting for the event to trigger. However, the issue is that the event never triggers. I've sent several emails, but the event still doesn't trigger. This is my main concern. I've tested various configurations (different income emails, subjects...), but none of them seem to work.

How can I debug this issue? What steps can I take to ensure the event triggers as expected?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Best regards,

Gale

Sorry for the delay. Debugging another app is difficult, i've looked at its code, and for what i can tell there's no obvious fault in the way it handles the plugin API.
Try excluding Aqua Mail from any "power save" features, see:

If it still doesn't work it might be easier to ask the its developers:

Otherwise, i'd need more information in the form of system log, to see if they log any internal failures:

For the next release i've refactored the plug-in blocks and implemented some of the newer API features, but Aqua Mail seems to use an older version of it so it shouldn't matter.
Anyhow you can opt-in for the Alpha version of the next release to see if it works any better, and help me test it. Opt-in here:

Hi,

Thank you for the update!

I have tried running Aqua Mail without the energy saver configuration, but unfortunately, it still doesn't work. I've also reached out to the Aqua Mail team for assistance (you can see the post here: Aqua Mail Forum).

How can I help you with gathering the system log? Please provide the necessary steps, and I'll get that information to you as soon as possible.

The only thing left to try is using the Alpha version.

Thanks again for your support Henrik.
