Hi

I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with using OpenDNP3 in conjunction with a SEL RTAC 3530?

I'm working with one right now and while most things are working fine there are a few issues that I suspect are down to configuration of said RTAC. I figured I'd post here just in case any of these issues ring a bell:
  • We have a Binary Output which is successfully receiving CROBs sent via OpenDNP3 but does not seem to be persisting the values sent or reflecting them to the associated Binary Output Status created by the RTAC software
  • We have an Analog Ouput which is successfully receiving values sent to it and the values are visible from the RTAC software but it doesn't seem like an Analog Output Status was created or is being written to
At this point I'm reasonably certain the issue is not with OpenDNP3 or my usage of it but with the configuration of said RTAC. Just wondering if any of this sounds familiar to anyone?

Thanks
Adam

I've personally used the library to talk to various flavors of RTAC, although someone else was doing the RTAC configuration.

It could be one of two things:

1) The RTAC is simply not configured to map outputs to status points.
2) The RTAC does not report binary output status or analog output status points in response to class read requests.

If you don't see any errors in the opendnp3 logs, then the library is understanding everything that the RTAC is sending. What do you see in response to class 0 read when you enable protocol decoding?

I suspect the issue is one of RTAC configuration.

I don't receive any Analog Output Status packets at all, while the Binary Output Status value never changes. Other Inputs sent by the RTAC come through just fine. Unfortunately the person I'm working with on the RTAC doesn't seem to know much more than me so we're going to see if SEL support can help.

Thanks
Adam
