Switched group to "ask for membership"

Due to the recent onslaught of spam in the group (the spam bots join the group then post spam) and the general movement of questions to Stack Overflow, I'm switching this group to be "ask to join." Anyone is welcome in, but it does seem the Google attention to stopping spam bots from showing up is no longer working, so... this is why we can't have nice things.
