Do you have an example URL for that site?

I added an example of "screencast" in MediaEmbed, which aims to be an up-to-date community driven library for PHP5.3+ as composer dependency:

You can use the example linked to include this service here in this class.
So one example URL would be "http://www.screencast.com/t/Hh4ulI0M"

You could at the very least reference the code you copied in your readme ;)

That said, thanks for picking this up.  I haven't had time to maintain this and I was hoping someone would take it over or port it.  Nice work.

Yeah I was trying to write an object oriented approach from scratch
But had to use some ideas and stubs to get things working

I will add a reference right away.

Any feedback is welcome as well.

I actually have some updated stubs that you might be able to use.  I rewrote the entire thing in node a long while ago and it's much more robust.  I haven't had time to release it yet but I'll check it out soon and give you my updated stubs (the format is slightly different but it might help) or give you some pointers on the new approach I started using.  I think it was much more flexible than the PHP version is.

Other than that, just decide if you want to go with tabs or spaces in your code.  I think some of my left over double spaces are mixed up with your tabs so it makes the code hard[1] to read to us space lovers :)

Sure, my email is on github.
If we can find a way to make the stubs more inter-changable between projects that would probably also ease updating.

Symfony people would probably use YAML^^

Ah, thanks for pointing that out. Fixed now :)

Hey Mark

So sorry but have been crazy busy lately.  I know I have the code around somewhere but I have not been able to find it yet.

I do know that I pretty much scrapped the whole way autoembed worked and rewrote it from scratch.  Autoembed was written in a time where html5 video didn't exist (only flash) so it was written for object tags.  Since the vast majority of all video/audio on the web is using HTML5, you can create a much cleaner way to pull the data out if you start from scratch.

Another thing to consider is oEmbed.  Some sites (e.g. youtube, soundcloud, flickr, etc) have oEmbed endpoints and you can hit it and they will give you pretty much everything you wanted from the site.

A buddy of mine hosts autoembed.com and I've told him to point to your site.  Still waiting for him to do it as well :)

I'll be in touch.
