Issue:

You installed Autodesk® Navisworks®  and Autodesk® AutoCAD® or any vertical application. 
You expected that you could run Navisworks plug-in commands  such as  'NWLOAD'  and  'NWNAVIGATOR' in AutoCAD. 
However, you got ' UNKNOWN COMMAND' error.

Causes:

When installing Navisworks or the Exporter, the installer detects AutoCAD and installs the Navigator as an extra. 

The error occurs because Navisworks Exporter is not installed for AutoCAD. (mainly because AutoCAD was installed after Navisworks, and the installer did not originally detect it)

Solution:

For versions prior to 2017:

• In order for Navisworks Navigator plug-in to be installed in AutoCAD, Navisworks must be installed 'after' AutoCAD.
• Install Navisworks Exporter Tool.
• Otherwise, uninstall Navisworks and re-install it

For version 2017 and later:

• Navisworks Navigator Plugin has been removed - AutoCAD based products now have the same navigation mode as Navisworks - the NavCube and Bar, so the plugin became redundant.
• The Export functionality is still available through the Exporter Tool - NWCOUT.
