Help us convert redline to .dwg for use in AutoCAD

We are trying to bring redline information from a .red file created in Autodesk View 2.0, traced over an ortho (.tif) image. If we try to open just the redline and convert it to .dwg it is opening two .red files but the one we want (with current changes will not display or convert.
If we open the .tif image first, then the new redline, the redline displays correctly on top of the .tif, but Autodesk View is treating the .tif as the drawing, (parent) and is opting to try converting it into the .dwg instead of the .red file.
