AutoDesk View Xrefs and printing

I am having trouble figuring out whether 'View' will allow me to xref
neighboring maps. It seems that the only thing the xref option controls is
other maps that lie within the same coordinates. (other layers, basically) I
also can't get it to print to scale. Once I set the scale, then OK out of it
to print, it resets to the defaults. I must be missing something. Please
help!

From what little I know about View, it does not allow you to xref any files. It only views whatver you have on the file already, if you want to view xref's you have to attach them to the file prior to viewing them. On the printing side i can't help you there buddy.
