I just purchased Planix Complete Home Suite and it contained a 1996 version
of Deck 3D v1.0. I'm disappointed with the program for reasons given in
numerous other posts in this group.

What is the current version of Deck 3D? I've seen beta and 2.0 version
posts here. The 1.0 version is 16-bit and not well suited to Win98 or NT4.0.
It's missing considerable features for modern hanger construction and the
materials list is useless. Will this program be updated to a version 2 and
provide basic features to make it useful?

Hi Rich,

Version 1.0 is the current version. As far as future development/upgrade plans,
I don't have any idea. As soon as information is available it will be announced
on the web site and this newsgroup I'm sure.

Keith;

Since you are from Autodesk, why don't you ask the proper development group within
your organization?
It would seem to me that IF there were any intentions to bring this product up to
Window 98/Windows 2000 standards that it would be a visible effort within your
company. Let's not be evasive, plainly tell your customers if there are or are not
efforts currently underway to deliver a new release!!!!

Mark,

Unfortunately, I do not work in the same place as these folks and wouldn't know who to
ask. This isn't exactly the 10 or 20 employee company with everyone working out of one
location. I am not trying to be evasive, I just really don't know.

Mr. Sibbert,

Users (like me) do not expect a support person (like you) to know answers
immediately. I do, however, expect that you to begin looking for the
answer, to inform us that you are doing so, and to keep us informed of your
progress. The first and most obvious step is for you to start asking your
co-workers and supervision as to who your software development people are,
and which ones are responsible for Deck 3D.

I happen to work in a company with 200,000+ people. I often find it very
frustrating to figure out who does what, but I do know that one will never
find out if one does not start asking.

Even if the answer eventually (as I suspect) turns out to be
"No, Autodesk does not plan to ever upgrade Deck 3D",
then you owe us the decency of so stating.

Lip service, sir, does not cut the mustard.

Sincerely,
Keith Johnson
