Insertion point for external object

Hi,
I have an assembly with 2 parts. One of them is local and the other one is external.
I am visiting the parts by calling the API "amiGetCompDefChildren".
I am getting the position matrix for each part by calling "amiGetCompPosition". But for the external part the position matrix that I am getting is not what I am expecting. This is due to the reason that the external point has an insertion point. Can anyone help me out in finding the insertion point of an external part in an assembly.
I am using MDT 6.
It is a bit urget..
