Downloaded it.
Installed it.

It didn't even mess up the App.Options.

It resized the browser-but didn't kick the panel bar out of "expert"

Are you sure this thing "did" something? <g>

I can't get any parameters linked into the properties and DA (from the

Try using the measuring tool in an assembly while viewing it head on in a
common view. I'm getting problems here, especially if there are cylinders
involved.

Measuring seems to work as always. What problems are you seeing?

Does your Design Assistant work from the File menu in an assembly?

Mine works from Explorer, but not from the IAM.

And I definitely CANNOT get parameters into the Custom Properties.

Yes, I can expand the assembly and show all parts with no problem. Lets
make sure I doing it like you are. I have the assembly open, go to file,
then design assistant, then expand...no prob.

based on Walt's experience, maybe its an install problem.

I can crash it. Its an assembly with an array of 12 cylinders. I can't
measure from the top of one of the cylinders to the edge of another part
without it hanging. I tried it on a smaller one and it responded albeit
very slowly. It seems that cylinders viewed orthogonal gives it fits. I
was able to open Design Assistant from the File menu while an assembly was
open. Did not have a manage tab though like in Explore. What can you do at
this point with DA. I don't use it much in this way. Did not try the
custom properties issue.

If I'm picturing what you're trying to do correctly, yes. I've got an
assembly with rows of cylindrical rings going down the outside of another
cylinder (think washers stacked on a bolt). Looking straight down on it, I

Sorry I dropped out of the conversation...ya gotta go home sometime, right?

Jimmy, my cylinders aren't arrayed; it's just one of my big, roundish
assemblies. I get the feeling we're doing apples and oranges here, and I'm
not being much help. If you can post an example to CF, I'll try to
duplicate your problem.

On the DA issue, I've always considered a full reinstall the price you pay
to be sure. Inventer still seems to like to be reinstalled from time to
time anyway, and a new SP is a good excuse. The registry keys
HKEY_CURRENT_USER and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE both have entries for Inventor;
usually under software|autodesk... when I uninstall Invnentor, I delete
these entries entirely. The install routine then rebuilds them, which
insures a totally clean reinstall.

Of course, messing with the registry is dangerous. Observe all precautions,
including not doing it at all if you're not sure what 'all precautions' are.

Walt. I posted a watered down version. It will respond, but see if you
can measure from the bottom to the tube to the top of the container like you
should be able to, viewing it as if it was one container in the view. In
the project assembly, this hangs it up and a re-boot is required.

keep getting an "internal error 2203" and a path pointing to a Temp file on
drive C when I try to load the SP. I moved everything to my laptop with
Windows XP, (where I don't want it) and the SP loaded fine, so it doesn't
seem to be a corrupted file. I did some diagnostics on my computer, and
everything seem to be in good health. And yes, my setup does meet the

Well I gave up with OE, and decided to download Free Agent for these ones
that lock up OE and I couldn't get it to see any attachments so I went to
the web ughhh and downloaded it.

It takes maybe ~2 seconds to measure from the bottom of the tube to the top
of the Jars. I imagine it is because there is so may possible spots to pick
from? Never tried anything like this in SP1 so couldn't say if it is faster
or slower.

I got this error as well. Because this group of fine people :-) had run into
troubles I started with the laptop.
I tried all the tricks, uninstalled Volo, IV5 SP1, cleaned the registry -
always with a reboot between. All to no avail.
I Then realized that I could probably extract the files with WinZip. I did
so and run the update.
Everything worked.
I did this again on the production machine (extracting) and run the patch
without a glitch. No uninstalling etc.

Thanks for warning me.
