Having lots of problems with Inventor R4 and R5 when trying to use the
program through C++ API. I have this program which can create assemblies and
it works mostly with little or no problems as long as my dll is a debug
compilation. Debugging however shows numerous acces violations... When I
compile a release compilation Inventor opens, closes and saves one file and
when it is time to open the next file it crashes to an error message 'No
RTTI data' or such... This happens in R4. In R5 the file copying goes
without problems untill it is time to link the files under an asssembly...
At the time when Inventor R5 should add the first file to the assembly it
crashes...

Have any of you software developers experienced such problems when making
release compilations of your add-ins?

The weird part is that if you run Inventor R4 or R5 alone without any
additional components(dlls) in debugger it stills announces numerous acces
violations. Why is this? I understand there should be no acces violations in
Windows programs or is this a common feature in programs? 8O

The exceptions look like this for example:
First-chance exception in Inventor.exe (RSE.DLL): 0xC0000005: Access
Violation.

I hope somebody knows something that could help me to resolve the annoying
release compilation crashing...

Cheers:
