When trying to start autocad R11, I receive this error message:

Phar Lap err 35: The 386 chip is currently executing in virtual
8086 mode under the control of another program. You must turn off this other
program in order to use 386: DOS-Extender to run in protected mode.

I suspect that this error code has somthing to do with trying to run
an older DOS program under Windows/95 OS. But I hav'nt a clue as to the
remedy.
Please, if someone knows of one, let me know.
I just want to run autocad again.

Thanks
Tom Utter

We were able (or someone around here was) to get R12 for DOS
running under Win 95 in a DOS box, without having to Exit to
DOS completely. Of course by the time he was able to figure
that out, we had finished upgrading to R13 for Windows.
There was a PHARLAP.386 file registered in the system.ini file
I think, but I'm not the one that set it up. I don't remember
where he found the info to set it up under Win95 (I think
he used a Win 3.1 setup). Sorry.
