The question is: can AutoCAD create a 3D object that it itself cannot
manipulate?
It's not like I am creating Klein Bottles or Escher Loops, I'm doing
simple sweeps and extrusions. I'm performing boolean operations on
them. I'm not using some third party oddball solids manipulation
routines.
Yet, a 4 Mb file (I've had SUCCESS with 13 Mb files!) cannot be rendered
by Autocad R14 AEC (which, by the way, rejects the 14.01 patch). Even
independent components which I could HIDE, SHADE and RENDER before, are
now in essence lost to me. Everything shows up fine in wireframe, but
these ACIS errors appear when I try to HIDE, SHADE or RENDER.
AutoDESK wants $65 for me to tell them about my problem.
By the way, I have:
< Hardware >
Processor: GenuineIntel Family 6 Model 1 199.00 MHz
Stepping 9

< Operating System >
Windows: 4.0 (Build 1381)
Net Clients:

Oh, I also set FACETRES to 0.01; no change.
Does anybody out there have any clue how to solve this problem? Pro/E
or I-DEAS, perhaps?

If you could e-mail me the solids that are causing the problem, I would be
interested in taking a look at them.
