Linetypes are not shape files. There is no SHP2SHX converter as far as
I know. Do you mean SHX2SHP? SHP2SHX is done with the COMPILE command
for fonts.
Any idea of how to do .

LIN files are an ASCII text file to define linetypes and it does not require
compiling.
SHP files are the ASCII text file to define text characters and the SHX files
are the compiled version of the SHP file. If AcadLT does not have a way to
compile the SHP file then maybe you can send your SHP file to someone with
Autocad, they can compile it for you and then they'll send the SHX file back to
you. BTW - Did you try typing COMPILE into AcadLT (I don't have LT so I don't
know if this works in LT or not) but it works in R14.
In a linetype file you can create a linetype that inserts a text character into
the line but there is no need nor a way to compile the LIN file.
