Our company will upgrade all the system to Windows 98 soon and right now
all the CAD stations are usingWindow NT 4.0

So if we upgrade to use Windows 98 for all CAD stations, will Autocad 14
run smoothly
under Windows 98?  Will it cost any problems? I need some advices.
Thanks.

Leave your CAD stations on NT 4.0. AutoCAD runs better.

Yung Du,

Going from NT 4.0 to Windows 98 is not an upgrade. I wouldn't recommend
doing that. However, from everything that I have heard, AutoCad runs fine
on Windows 98, it's just not officially "supported".

AutoCAD will run better on NT, however I run it on Windows 98 without any
problems. Also you may want to wait until Windows 2000 if you want to
upgrade.

Yung,
We have about 10 stations running ACAD14 under Win98. They seem to run
just as good as under Win95.
But, as others have pointed out, it will run much better under Win NT 4.
I would never do such a "downgrade" . Even assuming no problems with
AutoCAD, you are likely to lose much time just handling the all the annoying
things that crop up when you make such a wholesale change.

I would also NEVER do this type of downgrade. Windows NT handles things so
much more smoothly and Microsoft will (supposedly) no longer be creating the
Windows products after Win98 and will only offer OS's that are based on NT.

I've also seen lots of postings regarding Win98 (and bugs/problems they've
had). Just look around
