In order to edit a block is to explode the block, make your modifications
and then re-block the entities. However, if you have the Softdesk add-on
package, you can use the edit block command to do this for you.

AutoCAD R14 has a set of bonus tools that are installed separately. Two
of those tools are the btrim and bextend commands which allow you to
trim and extend to block entities without exploding them.

Gideon,
BTRIM is the bonus (now Express) tool that I think came with the first
VIP bonus tools

If not and you can't seem to find it look on my web site under blocks
and I think you will find one.

the original poster wanted to know how to trim a block, not trim with
a block.

Hi Gideon,

You can use the XCLIP command to visually clip a block the same way you
can clip an xref.
