Hello Alfred,
If you have Gerber Graphix Advantage R 4.3 or the latest R. 6.02 . Click on
file,
use import, check the directory path where your file located, check out the
format DXF, you will be able to get the file (*.dxf ) in the composer
screen. Then use save as the new file name.plt.

If you exercise a problem replay to the group & sender - or send Email to me
at Mak...@netscape.net I will be happy to help you.

Hello Alfred;
previously you mentioned that you need to convert dxf file to a Gerber file.
If my understanding is correct and you do not have a graphix advantage ?
Whey do you need to do the conversion? if you do not have an access to
graphix advantage - I do have 6.20 send me the file I will convert it to you
and send it back.

This news group have a limitation of the file size ( I do not remember the
exact size) but if it is bigger than 0.5 M send it to me by email I will
convert it free of charge. If you let me know what exactly you mean by area
filling "is it solid white to a rectangle or triangular shape .etc? this
could be done by hatching. ASA I get it I will send it back to you.

What version of autocad you are using?

filling of a complex microwave circuit, so what I do in Autocad is just
drawing the outline of the traces and now looking for a solution to fill
the areas and output to a Gerber file. Can Gerber Graphix Advantage do
that ?

Hello Alfred;
If you do not have Graphix advantage product Whey do you need to convert to
Gerber?
You stated in your first message that "Hi expert out there,

I need to convert my drawing from DXF to Gerber format. Anyone out there"
Also the email for Gerber " USA" is :
"GSPTECH (GSP)" <gsp...@gspinc.com
In case that the Gerber you mentioned in your Email is different than the
Gerber product in USA. Gerber product "graphix advantage " is a software
which allow you to create fonts, graphics, distortion, shadow, presentation.
. etc and it cost approx. $4,500 to $5,000.00.

The answer to your question for Graphix advantage by Gerber is yes you can
fill area by color.
but whey you want to convert to Gerber if you do not have the software? do
you have in the other end another user?

I would like to help you. I have gerber Graphix Advantage 6.2 If you have a
file send it to me or small portion of it. I will convert it and send it,
you may test it. In this newsgroup we are not allowed to send a big file to
each other please read the rules.

Also, I notice one time (over one year ago during training) that the VIP
subscription bonus menu /tools have a convertor to plt to dwg. I may be
wrong. we do not have VIP package. IF you would like to convert to a
specific file you need to say so. Gerber extension file is xxxx.plt and you
are allowed to export and import to eps, dxf, ai, cmx, gad, prn.

One more thing, If you want to fill an area without convert to Gerber you
may use hatch or solid command which will allow you to fill the area.

I hope it helps keep in touch
