Hi. I've to build a mountain's mesh startingf from outlines.
do you know if there's an Acad app that create an interpolate mesh that
pass trough outlines plines?
after I have to export into 3DS for Render...but tabsurf is awful...and
revsurf requires a too long workin' time...and the thing I miss is time
now :)))

tnx

Daniele

reply via @mail too plz

Hi---

Are you required to build the "mountain" in AutoCAD ? ....because I would
just create a NURBS surface in 3DS Max and push and pull on control
vertices until the desired effect is reached.........much faster and much
nicer !!

Otherwise, can't you use AutoCAD's surface commands with polylines on
different z-coordinates ?

ADIRT99.ZIP set privately, and posted to customer-files with
AutoDirt in subject line

ADIRT99.ZIP contains an AutoLISP program called ADIRT.LSP (AutoDirt). It
will construct a polygon mesh "draped" over the contour lines of your
mountain. You can control the density of the mesh as well as the
accuracy -- higher density and higher accuracy take more time to
calculate.

This program takes time - maybe an hour for an accurate high-density
mesh, but does a wonderful job.

yep...I did it...Bill just solved my prob :))
otherwise, I may create a MAX surface...but I need the exact surf for the
mountain 'cause have to mount some buildings on it...
I think that ACad is more precise...

ADIRT99.ZIP sounds interesting, is it available over the web? any info would
be appreciated.

Horace -

Yes. I posted it to the autodesk.autocad.customer-files newsgroup. It
works fine, although there are still a few cosmetic issues to resolve.
You might contact the author,

Geoff Gaudreault
ggau...@worldweb.net

to see if he has worked on it since it was last posted.
