Can't Convert .PLT file

Hi,
I'm using 2002, and when trying to convert PLT files done with that same
version, I get the following message:
"The selected plt file is not the proper HPGL format" What can I do to fix
this??

a plt file is only a plot file and does not contain any of the information
your dwg carries. think of that plt as a printed form of that dwg.basically
it has no digital accuracies.

I'm not sure if that command in 2002 works the same as the one in ACAD 2000.
In 2000 that command only works if the plot file was created using HPGL; it
will not work if HPGL/2 was used instead.

That explains everything.....they were created with HPGL/2.

I know that it's only a reflection of a printed drawing, but I need to
convert the PLT file I got form a client with the Express Tools command
"Convert PLT to DWG" because I need it as a reference. I want to know why I
can't convert enven my own PLT file. I do not wish to modify these dwgs, I
only want to print them.
