hatching problem over text in LDD2000

Has anyone else had a problem with hatching over text. I am experiencing a
problem with hatching covering up text. ie-->the text is faded where a hatch
line goes through it. We used to handle it through hpconfig via "lines
overright" and "lines merge" under the pens tab however, that command
doesn't exist in LDD.
Any ideas??

Should the hatch break around the text?
If so, when hatching, Select Area (pick area) then Select Objects
(pick the the text) then preview, etc..
