Has anyone out there tried to display any version of AutoCAD through a
virtual reality headset or display. I am a long time AutoCAD user and
Architectural draftsman. Alot of my clients are WOWed by the "hightech"
so I'm looking to possibly augment my presentation with a
Virtual-Reality walkthrough. If anybody out there has used VR in
conjunction with AutoCAD before or has any advice along those lines,
please let me know

While I have never seen AutoCAD used this way, I have seen what you are
describing done in 3D Studio MAX... I am a bit skeptical as to how effective
this would be in AutoCAD, simply because AutoCAD isn't really designed, or
optimized to provide a real-time walkthrough environment. It seemed to be
pretty slick in a MAX environment, but be prepared to pay through he nose
for the highest end machine you can get- it'll be dog slow otherwise!

Just my .02 cents worth.

Best of luck!

Way back in R12 days Autodesk sold the CyberSpace Development Kit. It
was a set of VR tools. Worked with SenseEight visors. I don't remember
if it had direct hooks into ACAD. -Bill
