I cannot keep my digitizer aligned. I have aligned it several times, it
works well for one or two sessions and goes out again. I am ready to
trash it...$300 for garbage. This is the second DB III I have had. the
first one blew a circuit and cooked after only two weeks. Needless to
say, CalComp won't get any more of my money. Can anyone provide a
suggestion on how to keep my digitizer aligned with R14.

George,

You need to list your system specifications, such as:

Operating system
Version of Autocad
Version of wintab driver used (if any)
Amount of RAM
CPU type

What do you mean by "aligned"? Does this mean calibrated or configured for
more than (1) tablet area?

If you are speaking about alignment in regards to the Calibration of the
tablet this information is not stored by Autocad from session to session.
It does not hold this information for accuracy purposes. It makes you
re-calibrate the tablet each session to make sure that nothing has slipped
(existing paper drawing) or the settings have not changed that would affect
your accuracy.

If you are refering to the TABLET/CONFIG command that hold the settings for
the template then this information is stored in the Acad.cfg file. If
these settings are not being restored it is due to an issue with the
Acad.cfg file being either corrupted or overwritten. In this case the
tablet is not responsible for holding those settings. You may want to
check to make sure that your cfg file is not being overwritten.

If the tablet itself is sending the wrong x&y coordinates to acad and that
is why your template commands are not working you can check the following.

1.) Make sure the tablet's configuration are the default settings out of
the manual.
2.) Make sure the tablet is at least a foot to the side of the monitor.
3.) Make sure you are the latest wintab driver version 5.1 available at
www.calcomp.com and if using Acad for windows make sure you are choosing to
run on the "Wintab Compatible Digitizer" driver
If your tablet is still having an issue and it is determined to be hardware
related. It carries a limited lifetime or 3 year warranty (depending on
date purchased) and will be replaced free of charge by Calcomp. To place a
warranty replacement call dial 1-800-458-5888.

I hope this helps. If not please post a reply with vital information such
as operating system, version of acad and specific command that is having
the issue.
