nVidia Riva TNT performance problem...

Hello,
I've recently obtained a Dell XPS500 w a STB nVidia Riva TNT
card (16MB). I'm experiencing extremely poor performance when
AutoCAD displays dialog boxes for certain commands, like "PREFERENCES"
or the Express Tools "Find and Replace". Other command dialogs,
like "DDLMODES", display quickly.
Has anyone else experienced trouble with this card? Do you have
a solution?

There appears to be a known issue with STB cards using the nVidia Riva TNT
chipset. Autodesk has reported this problem on their tech support page. They
suggest downloading updated drivers off of STB's website, also I've heard of
setting the acceleration lower in display props.

Fred,
Dell has the latest STB driver for download on their web site. Check the
previous postings in the NG also, I think there are some solutions
there. This STB problem is also noticed with Gateway machines and their
latest driver download fixes the problems.
