Lost Kurta config files

DELL GX1 400mhz
64 mb Ram
8gb hd
W95 w/SP1
Kurta v2.7 w95 wintab driver
ACAD12c4Win
NT network
Problem:
Install & config Wintab driver.
Configure ACAD, including digitizer & plotters.
Copy "C:\ACADWIN\ACAD.CFG" to "C:\MYSTUFF"
Set props in shortcut point to "C:\ACADWIN\ACAD.EXE /C C:\MYSTUFF"
Start ACAD from shortcut>>>>>>>>>>>>>> digitizer loses config, so I
reconfig digitizer.
Digitizer works.
Quit & restart ACAD from same Shortcut.
Digitizer does not work.
Reconfig, blah, blah, you get the picture.
I'm getting tired of reconfiguring the digitizer.
These digitizers worked fine up until a couple of weeks ago.
Does anyone have any idea of what I am missing here?
