Did anyone make any headway fixing the Intellimouse Explorer to work with
autocad commands? I just got this mouse... thinking more buttons HAS to be
better... and intent to use it with Acad2000 Architectural desktop...

Everyone wants slightly different things, I am sure.. here's what I am
looking for...

1. left click = click or the regular pick button
2. right click = right click or the context sensitive menu's
3. scroll wheel = zoom in and out
4. click with wheel = object snap pop up (ok if mbutton pan = 1)
5. little side button = pan
6. large side button = favorite osnaps "end;mid;cent;int"

or on the other hand, I could be persuaded to keep pan and zoom with the
wheel. ie...

1. left click = click or the regular pick button
2. right click = right click or the context sensitive menu's
3. scroll wheel = zoom in and out
4. click with wheel = pan
5. little side button = object snap pop up
6. large side button = favorite osnaps "end;mid;cent;int" (normally shows
up in the acad.mnu)

How about this.

1. left click = click or the regular pick button
2. right click = right click or the context sensitive menu's
3. scroll wheel = zoom in and out
4. click with wheel = pan
5. large side button + right click = osnap's (set large button to "shift").
6. small side button = escape (set button for escape) this way you can clear your selection without either the keyboard or the context sensitive menu.

Jesse

I then use the osnap button at the bottom of the screen to toggle my favorite osnap's on and off.

Mark,

This is a common question. Search the old posts and you will find more
detail, but here it is in a nutshell...

You can set the side buttons to do AutoCAD commands by using a
go-between function button. i.e. Set the large thumb button to F12, then,
in your AutoCAD or MDT menu files, set your F12 equal to whatever command
you want the thumb button to execute. You can also read up on how to do
this in the customization help file with AutoCAD.

Yep this is where I have ended up. I tried all combinations of shift and esc
and enter on the side buttons, but to invoke a pop up menu using the
combination of the side and the right click needs great dexterity and timing
not to move the curser off the area you are trying to pick!

I will try to set the seemingly availiable F4 and F12's using the
accellerator keys in the menu, although I couldn't work out how to get the
osnap pop up using an ID_* string. I will keep searching!

ID_VBARun [ALT+"F8"]
ID_VBAIDE [ALT+"F11"]
what goes here? ["F4"] (osnap pop up)
what goes here? ["F12"] (most common osnap line "int, end, mid, cen"
