We do it by visualizing 11"x11" grids on the 24"x36" original. We then
draw a grid on the original 24x36 dense enough that there are two grid
lines in each axis on all 11x11 sections. We cut the original into
11x11 sections and digitize each seperately. We always use at least
four points for every section - "anything less would be uncivilized."
