We have 16 button cursor and A0 digitizer installed with ACAD2000. Default button assignments in acad.mnu do not work correct, for example, button #3 must repeat the last command that was used before but it opens a rectangular area to select an object. Is there anybody who has faced such a problem and could solve it?

The digitizer needs to be configured correctly with the appropriate
Wintab driver in Windows and the pointing device set to Wintab
Compatible Digitizer in the AutoCAD Options. The acad menu can then be
edited.

The following is an extract of the BUTTONS1 section of the acad.mnu with
button 3 edited for "return" and buttons 4 to 16 added with sample
commands:
//
// Default AutoCAD NAMESPACE declaration:
//
***MENUGROUP=ACAD
//
// Begin AutoCAD Digitizer Button Menus
//
***BUTTONS1
// Simple + button
// if a grip is hot bring up the Grips Cursor Menu (POP 500), else send
a carriage return
// If the SHORTCUTMENU sysvar is not 0 the first item (for button 1) is
NOT USED.
$M=$(if,$(eq,$(substr,$(getvar,cmdnames),1,5),GRIP_),$P0=ACAD.GRIPS
$P0=*);
[Button 3];
