I know it has something to do with the driver, as back in the DOS days, a right-click was instant. Just like hittin' enter on the keyboard.
Compare for yourself. Insert a block in a new dwg and hit enter 3 times as fast as you can on the keyboard to take the defaults. Then do the same using your mouse for return. It cannot keep up.
With Windows, the mouse drivers are more sophisticated, and speed is lost as the input is filtered. I have removed all the bells and whistles from my diver. I have tried different mice/drivers over the years. It doesnt matter the size of dwg.
Is there something I can do to Windows? Is there an ultra-scaled-down driver? Is it a hardware thing? Please help if you can.
When I say "click", I wanna see click... now. It's a flow thing, ya know, timing and that.
Thanks ahead

You may want to check out a utility called QuikPik from www.manusoft.com
Among other things, it has an option for activating toolbars/menu items when you press DOWN on the mouse button, instead of when you let UP on it.
Not exactly what you asked for, and it won't address the "click 3 times for Enter" problem you mentioned, but it seems like something you could use. I'm a very satisfied customer, it's definitely worth the small price.

It won't? Please test this and let me know if it really doesn't. :)
