I am having trouble with pieces of my autocad drawing disappearing on
the screen. The lines and solids in the drawing still exist, but they
disappear from the screen. Is this a problem with my video driver or
autocad? FYI - I have a new 400mhz Gateway.

I would greatly appreciate any answers to my problem and solutions for
fixing it.
Thanks,
Jason Andrus

Hi James;

I'll bet you've got an STB video card in your Gateway, huh? If you look over
the messages in this newsgroup you'll find quite a number of them talking
about driver problems. Even the Velocity 128ZX (the newest version) caused
problems on the latest system we installed.

Solutions that have been suggested: trying different versions of the video
driver (the latest one may not always be the best for your system), reducing
the number of colors displayed to 256, and reducing the "Hardware
Acceleration" under the Performance tab of the Advanced display settings.

The real solution: buy from a company which produces better drivers in the
first place and is more willing to fix problems when so many people come
across them. I prefer Diamond products - some people hate 'em, but I've had
good luck with them. <<<soapbox mode off>>>
