I spend my day using AutoCAD, or Esprit Cad Cam systems, and little
other software.
Thanks to the global use of toolboxes and toolbars, the only time I
actually type anything is when entering numbers, via the numeric keypad. I
point and click with my mouse, with my right hand. I type numbers on the
keypad, with my right hand. This constant shifting from mouse to keypad and
back tends to make my elbow and wrist sore by the end of the day.
I solved the problem by putting my mouse on the LEFT side of the
keyboard, and now do all of my pointing and clicking with my left hand... a
little tricky at first, but surprisingly simple after a couple of days (try
it!!). And now my left hand gets to do something, and my right hand / arm is
no longer sore... Cool, yes?
The problem I ran into is this... Everybody that makes mouses has
started making, in the past 5 years, these nifty ergonomic mouses FOR THE
RIGHT HAND. My left wrist hurts now from being bent backwards all day long
on a right-handed mouse.
I am now using a large, 3-button track ball (neutral 'handed') with my
left hand, with a great deal of success. But I can't help but wonder if
anybody makes an actual LEFT HANDED ergonomic mouse.
I figure AutoCAD users will be the first people to know the need for
such an animal, assuming there are other left-hand mousers out there... any
body else know where to find a left hand mouse?? please??

Logitech says they quit making them because nobody bought them! (You'd
think they'd have a few laying around!!!)

Being left handed, you can imagine my frustration at the lack of left-handed
mice.
I have three of the old Logitech Mousemans and I'm hoarding them!!!

I believe Contour makes a left handed ergo-mouse (maybe even in different
sizes)
I use a right handed model and pain was relieved in less than one week.
