Hi,

I would like to know the following information about DWF format:

1. What is the structure of the format?

2. How does one create it?

3. Can AutoCAD Import / Export the DWF format?

Any pointers are welcome.

Rakesh

It is highly compressed, vector based. A DWF compared to a DWG can be
as little as 10 percent of the original file. It is non-editable, but
since it is vector based, you can zoom and pan with no loss of
resolution. You must have the WHIP plugin installed to view it.

Easiest way is in R14. Go to File->Export and select Drawing Web
Format (DWF). That's all there is to it. You can also use the DWFOUT
command (I think <G>).

See above. I don't think you can import it...

there used to be a whip! toolkit on autodesk's web or ftp site. have a
search there. http://www.autodesk.com/products/whip/
it includes complete technical information and sources.
